Hi all, this is a programmer’s blog where you will learn all about programming languages and how to get into the profession.
When I was still starting my programming career, I was often involved in arguments about which programming language, framework, library was better. I used to make some arguments, argue, quarrel.
But now that I am professionally engaged in selling development services, this is not an issue or a problem for me at all.
For example, I can already say with absolute certainty that SCALA is a bad language. The project in it is many times (maybe by an order of magnitude) more complicated and expensive to maintain. And in all aspects – from hiring specialists to the hardware required for compilation/development, etc. Adding the same features to the code in java and scala by the same developer is several times longer. And the time it takes for a new developer to get into a project on scala and java is incomparable.
Well, if you think that programmers work to satisfy their passion for “interesting projects” quietly by themselves in a corner, then of course we can consider functional languages as an option. But if we believe that programmers work for business, then programming languages have exactly one criterion – how profitable it is to write in it FOR BUSINESS.
You will find even more information in the articles of this blog. I’ll be grateful if you leave your comments or recommendations.
